Madeleine McCann's PledgePage
Today 12th May 2007 is Maddies 4th Birthday.
I set up this pledge page to help in the search for Maddie, and a means for donations to be collected to help Maddie and here family when Maddie is found. Maddie’s kidnap while on holiday in Portugal’s Algarve more than a week ago has touched every parent’s heart. TV viewers have been moved to tears by the dignified courage of her desperate parents — Scots-born cardiologist Gerry and GP Kate, both 38. Now, on Maddie’s fourth birthday, we are asking every Sun reader in Britain to don a yellow ribbon — or items of yellow clothing — in a symbol of solidarity with the family’s unimaginable nightmare. Already villagers near the McCanns’ home in Rothley, Leics, have shown their backing by tying yellow ribbons to railings in the hope of blonde Maddie’s safe return. And around 200 ex-pat Britons on the Algarve joined together today to tie yellow ribbons along railings outside the reception area of the holiday complex where the McCanns are staying. Yellow flowers were also laid beside the railings and soft toys were left. Celtic and Aberdeen players will wear similar ribbons on their football shirts during today’s Scottish Premier League clash at Celtic Park. |
